Process | Design Q & A
Q. How long
does it take to get my site up and going?
A. Technically, we can build most of our Basic sites within a couple
days. However, we find that by the time we do a good job working with
you to get the right look/feel for your site, work with you to gather
your ad copy, give time for testing, etc. it takes longer. We typically
recommend giving 4-6 weeks for a typical basic site build from start
to launch date.
Q. Who maintains
my site after it goes live?
A. You can, we can, or we can work together on it - per your preference.
If you have the staff and expertise to maintain your web site, we will
give you full access to do so. We find many clients desire us to help
with maintenance. We have several maintenance plans you can choose from.
One of our most common plan is where we act as your 'technical maintenance
staff'. You send us updates/changes on a periodic basis and we make
the changes for you and only charge you fro time actually spent making
the updates.
Q. How do
you bill out your hourly rate.
A. We bill in 1/4 hour increments. If it only takes 15 minutes to make
a modification, you only get billed for 1/4 hour.
Q. How often
can we change our web site?
A. As often as you like. Monthly, weekly, daily, hourly.
Q. Even
though I'm on your annual renewal plan for my domain name, I still get
renewal notices. Why?
A. The way our renewal program works is that we pay the renewal notices
whenever they come due so you never have to worry about it. Sometimes,
it's because your email address is still listed as the billing contact,
you may get a renewal notice. Other times, you may simply be getting
spammed by companies trying to get you to switch to their services.
One company in particular (register.com) sends out spam email and spam
snail mail to domain name registrants 'informing' them your domain name
is up for renewal and to 'follow their instructions' to renew it. When
you do so, you are actually giving them permission to move
your domain name from wherever it is currently registered at (usually
not at register.com) and move it to their services - very simular to
slamming in the telephone long distance business. If you are on our
renewal program and you get some type of renewal notice, simply forward
it to us and we'll make sure it's taken care of.
